平均とはすなわち人口のうちに最も多く見られる数値ということですよね。男性が170cmといったところでしょうか。とはいえ昨今ですと196cmに達するあるいはそれ以上のフィリピン人というのもスポーツ分野に目に見えて増えていますけどね。まあフィリピン人といってもフィリピン系アメリカ人がほとんどですが。 〔When you say averages its the most you can see amongst the population which I thinks is 5"7 for men, although there are now more Filipinos in sports you can see with heights is reaching to 6'5" above but mostly they are Filipino American in origins.〕

ネットでざっと調べてみましたところ、フィリピン男性の平均身長は163cm前後、でフィリピン女性の平均身長が150cm前後もしくは152cm前後となっておりました。わしらの大統領閣下は150cmの人ですが、まあジョージ・ブッシュ大統領ともツーカーで話せる人ではある。巨人と対面ですな。ｗ 〔What I have researched online the average Filipino man's height is around 5' 4" while the Filipino woman is around 4'11" or 5 feet. ちょいとばっかし補足を。都市住民は大抵が田舎住民より高いもんです。田舎住民をデータから除外したらフィリピンの平均身長は上昇することでしょう。 〔Just an addition to my answer. Most urban dwellers are basically taller than their rural counterparts. Unless if you eliminate the rural dwellers in the data, the average Filipino height would increase.〕

自分は14のときは163センチしかなかったんですけど、最終的に173センチまで伸びて、21で成長がストップしました。兄弟3人のうち2人は175センチ、もう1人は185センチあります。男は168センチが昨今の相場なのでうちの家族は概ね高身長に該当しますね。 〔I was only 5'4 when I was 14, I reached 5'8 at 21, and I stopped growing. My 2 brothers were 5'9, and 1 brother is 6'1. Most consider my family tall as normally guys would be around 5'6 by average these days.〕
