あるロシアンブルーの猫を親離れしだい今後2週間以内に購入します。ロシアンブルーを飼うのはこれで2回目。個性抜群でよろしい感じの名前を求めております。ギリシャやエジプトの神々の名前を思案していたのですが、なかなかしっくりくるのが見つからなくて。ブルーもしくはシルバー色に関する名前。。。もしくはなんでもいいからとにかく独特で、かつ発音しやすい名前。 〔I am buying a Russian Blue cat in 2 weeks when he is ready to leave his mother. ご自身のお好きなお名前をどうぞ。正真正銘のロシアンブルー猫なのであれば、すなわちご入手元はブリーダーということで、既にキャッテリー用の名前を付けられてるはず。その名前がお気に召さないということであれば、近い語感の範囲内でお好きな名前に変更なさればよろしいかと。ブリーダーからの入手でない？ならそれはただのブルーの家猫。ロシアンブルーはそうそう容易く手に入るような品種ではないのです。 〔Call him whatever YOU want to call him. If he truly is a Russian Blue then he came from a breeder and will already have a name and cattery name suffix so if you don't like that name change it to something that goes with the cattery name. Not from a breeder? Then you have a Blue domestic. The Russian Blue is really not that common.〕

もう随分昔の話ですけどロシアンブルーの男の子を飼っておりました。血統名は太綱の同士ツァーレビッチ。（ツァーレビッチは「ツァーの息子」つまり「王子」というような意味。）ゆえに「ツァー」とその子に名付けたのでした。 〔Many long years ago I had a Russian Blue boy. His pedigree name was Cable's Comrade Tzarevich. (Tzarevich means "son of the tzar," something like "prince" in English.) We called him "Tzar."〕

実際に接してしばらく観察するのも名案がひらめくきっかけになるかもしれませんよ。昔うちで飼ってた猫も最初は名前で迷いましてね。バターを地面に落とした瞬間まさしく全速力で舐めに駆け寄ってきた姿を見てからバターズと呼ぶようになりましたよ。 〔And if not maybe just spending time with ur cat and watching him will give u a name. i once had a cat and i didnt know what to name him till we droped some butter on the ground and he licked it up so fast so from there on we called him butters.〕
