ビバリー・ジョンソンかな。米国版ヴォーグ誌の表紙初めて飾った人。‘白人’的な顔立ちに黒めな肌。さらに言えばエキゾチックなイマンの成功も、この人が色んな壁を壊してくれたおかげ。 〔I would say Beverly Johnson. She was the first to be on the cover of American Vogue magazine. She had more 'white' features with darker skin. She broke down a lot of barriers for the more exotic looking Iman.〕
史上最高の成功度 ― これまでで ― 考えてみるに ― タイラかな。もうあらゆる雑誌の表紙に登場してきたし、スポイラの表紙モデルでもあったし、「アメリカズ・ネクスト・トップモデル」みたいな自分の司会番組もあるしね。たださ、タイラの容姿に‘民族性’がよく備わってるとは思えないんだよね。ナオミやイマンみたいな美人と比べちゃうとさ。 〔The most successful of all time - so far - I think - would be Tyra, because she's been on the cover of everything, was an SI cover model, has her own talk show, girls camp, and "America's Next Top Model" contest. However, I don't think Tyra is very 'ethnic looking', compared to the beautiful Naomi or Iman.〕
追伸。成功度が史上最高なモデルってことなら、それはクリスティ・ブリンクリーになるはず。稼いだお金の額でじゃなくて、俳優業ででもなくて、息の長さでね。30年以上やってて未だに表紙の仕事が舞い込んでくる！ツイッギーとか90年代（全盛期の30年後）にはもうモデル界から消えてたしさ、イマンとかゴシップ記事以外にゃ ま る っ き り 登場しないし。え、なに、シェリル・ティーグス？シンディ・クロフォードもポーリーナ・ポリスコワも今じゃ滅多に見ないし・・・・・・・・・ってことで史上最高トップモデルの座は余裕でクリスティに決まり。 〔P.S. タイラに関してちょっとおかしいと思うのがさ、あの人ってさいつも「うちら有色の女ってさ」みたいな言い方するじゃん。ヒスパニックはもちろん白人のかなり多数より色白なのにさ・・・もしくは照明とかでそんな見えてるだけなんかな。正真正銘黒人な美人モデルってのもいると思うんよね。 〔My only problem with Tyra is that she's always talking about "we women of color" when she looks lighter than a hispanic girl and a lot of white folks...
