メッシはイタリア系ですつまりはコーカソイドです。南アメリカで北アメリカほどヨーロッパ系が多数なのはブラジルとウルグアイとアルゼンチンだけなんですが、スペイン語かポルトガル語の話者はすなわちラティーノ（非白人）という誤解が蔓延してしまってますよね。 〔Messi is caucasian because he is from Italian descent, only South America Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina have the most european descents same as North America, but unfortunately ignorance makes us believe that just because they speak Spanish or Portuguese they automatically become Latins (not white).〕
