全国リーグとかあったりするんでしょうか。人気度はどんなものでしょう。上昇中？下降中？それとも安定的？またその理由は？ 〔Do they have a national league, and would you say that its popularity is increasing, declining or stable, and any reasons for that?〕

人気は大してありません。こちらクリケット王国でしかも超絶強豪国なわけなんですわ。リーグはあるとは思いますが、まず試合中継とかやってませんし、そもそもどこの球場で試合やってるのかすら当方は把握できておりません。まあ安定的と言えるのでは。勃興することはまずないでしょうな。クリケットが存在している間は日の目を見ることはありませんでしょう。 〔Not very, we're a cricketing country and a damn fine one at that. I THINK there is a league, but they don't broadcast games and I wouldn't even be able to tell you what grounds they play on. Of the three I'd say it's popularity is stable, it never has taken off and as long as cricket's around it never will.〕
追記→ちょいと調べてみましたところ、あるみたいですねリーグ。恐ろしい規模のチームが6個ばかり存在しておるようです。 〔Edit: I looked into it, there is a league, it has a monstrous 6 teams.〕

今年パースが優勝したってニュースがあってそれで初めて知ったしだいです。決勝戦に何千人だか集まってたはず。 〔I only know because heard in the news that Perth won this year. Believe they had a few thousand at the finals.〕

こちらオーストラリアは野球が普及している国ではありません。普及スポーツはわりとたくさんあるんですけどね。（野球はほぼ米国と日本限定） 〔Australia is not a baseball playing nation, even though we play lots of other sports (Baseball is pretty much US and Japan only).〕
野球もしくはソフトボールを学校で（ほか様々なスポーツと同時に授業で）ちょっとだけかじる、というならそれは児童の大半がそうですが、やはりその域を超えることは稀ですね。 〔Most kids do play a bit of baseball or softball at school (usually as part of the various sport we learn), but it rarely takes off beyond that.〕
つまらないスポーツですね。ユニフォーム馬鹿っぽいし。ボールも（投球にあたり規則を要するクリケットと違って）放り投げるだけだし。 〔The game is boring, the uniforms are stupid, and you toss the ball (unlike cricket where you need the discipline to bowl the ball).〕
野球をプレイできる環境というならそれはわりと容易に見つかることでしょう。しかし国民的スポーツと言えるレベルには到底達しておりませんね。 〔You can find places to play baseball socially reasonably easily, however on a national scale it has made little inroads.〕

ぶっちゃけ野球ってスポーツの存在自体を中3ごろまで知りませんでした。学校の選択スポーツ種目にあったんですけど廃止されちゃってましたよ。人数集まんなくってチーム編成もできなかったから！ 〔To be honest I didn't even have a clue what it was until I was in 9th grade and it was offered as an option for sports selections- my school ended up axing it altogether because they didn't get enough interest to even make a team!〕
