〔At what time and when where who and why? The largest battle ive heard of was in Ancient Rome when Publius Cornelius Scipio destroyed a carthaginian camp that was nearly 90 thousand people died.〕

〔1.8 million died (civilian, Red Army and Wehrmact soldiers).....battling in the rubble of Stalingrad takes the title and mosts deaths from both sides in a battle.〕

〔I think it was the battle of verdun or the battle of the somme.〕

〔I would give it to a WWII battle - when medicine was still in its infancy and weapons became modernized:〕

〔The battle of the ardennes was pretty terrible:〕

〔I cheated and went to Wiki. They have an interesting break-out by individiual battle vs sieges. Overall, if you count it as one battle it was Stalengrad in WWII at 1.5 Million people. Check Wiki for details unless a real historian checks in here.〕

〔The battle of Stalingrad and the battle of Berlin, each battle at least two million killed. I think, nevertheless, the battle of Stalingrad was the worst killing death toll in world history.〕

・ソンムの戦い(イギリス人、フランス人、および同盟諸国民vsドイツ人および同盟諸国民→仏英同盟の勝利)(第1次大戦) 〔-Battle of the Somme (British, French, and their allies vs Germans and their allies > Franco-British Allied victory) (WW1)〕

〔These are probably the 3 bloodiest "famous" battles in history. The Battle of Stalingrad is the worst.〕

〔Some battles killed more people than the Somme or Verdun, but aren't "famous" or really symbolic, whereas the battles of Stalingrad, the Somme and Verdun became highly symbolic battles.〕

〔Note that 2 of the 3 most famous bloodiest battles involved the so-called "cheese eating surrender monkeys".........〕

〔Uh in the battle of the Somme it was more A German Defensive Victory depending what casualty figure you use and even if the high end estimates are correct the Germans Still Inflicted more casualties than the Allies did to them.〕

〔no i wouldnt say world war II the ww2 battles were horrible because of the weapons used... in more ancient times, there were often extremely large armies fighting head on until barely anyone was left standing, i cant really answer your question, but i can definitely say it wasnt in WW2, also i dont think the defense of stalingrad should be considered one battle...〕

〔Until technology became sufficiently advanced most battles were limited to one day. I would discount most estimates of ancient battles as it is pretty much agreed they are grossly exaggerated. Some WW1 battles, such as Verdun and The Somme, had upwards of a million casualties. This does not eclipse Stalingrad though Stalin and later Soviet historians probably inflated the figures a little. It is widely accepted that 40,000 were killed with the first Axis air attack on the city. So Stalingrad was in all likelihood the bloodiest battle in history, but some of the WW1 battles were probably the most useless.〕

〔Leningrad 1,530,000 deaths. Germans vrs. Russians.II WW〕
Same〕
Same〕

〔These are history´s bloodiest battles up to now.〕
