そういうものなのですよトレントというのは。確かにポートの問題という可能性も無いことはない。しかしトレントの速度というのは概ね、そのトレントをシードしている人々がそのデータをどれだけの速さで送信してくれているか、これで決まるわけなのでね。 〔That's torrents for you. You might have some problems with your ports, but usually the speed depends on how fast the people seeding it are sending out the data.〕

シードが足りておらんのでは・・・トレントを選ぶ際にはシードが大勢いるものを選ぶように。さすれば速度も大幅に向上するはず。 〔maybe not many seeders.. always look for torrent with lots of seeders, speed should be much faster.〕

たとえばダウンロード速度が20メガあるがアップロード速度が1メガしかないシードというのもありうる。 〔for example a sender might have a 20mb download speed but will probably only have a 1mb upload speed.〕
このケースにおいてはこちら側の接続速度がどれだけあろうが最高速度が1メガを超えることはない。 〔so when u connect to the sender you can only download at the max speed of 1mb regardless how fast your connection might be.〕

ビットトレントの使用に際しては、ダウンロードとアップロードをピア間で行うことになる。そしてピアの大半はアップロードの速度に制限を掛けている。 〔When you use BitTorrent, you're downloading and uploading to and from other peers, rather than dedicated servers, and most peers limit their upload speed.〕
ビットトレントの使用ポートは6112が既定値だ。そこで内部IPアドレスがきちんと割り当てられているかどうかをしっかり確認しておくことだ。使用説明を参照しつつ。 〔By default, BitTorrent uses port 6112, so make sure that's forwarded to your computer's internal IP address. Consult your manual for the instructions on how to do that.〕

残念ながらトレントというのはそういうものなのです。遅いものなのです！ 〔Unfortunately that's the thing with Torrents, their slow!〕
うちも高速回線ですよ。トレントソフトは5つも6つも試してみたわけですけど同じでしたよどれもこれも・・・ 遅 い ！ 〔I also have a fast internet connection, have tried about 5 or 6 different torrent downloaders, all the same... SLOW!〕
構造に関して詳しくはないんだけども、多分ダウンロードの手法が原因なのだと思う。すなわちシードやその他の接続。接続可能なところを探したうえで、繋いで、落として、切断、また繋ぎ直して、みたいなことを繰り返すわけですよね。そういう基本的な手法の部分が原因なのではないかと。まあ断言はできませんがね。 〔I think it's because of the way they download. I'm not entirely sure how they work, but it's got something to do with seeds and connections they have to make to various locations to see if a connection is possible somewhere, and then where possible, connect, download, disconnect and reconnect to another download location when the current goes unavailabe. I think that is a basic way they download, but not sure.〕

トレントに通信制限を課しているプロバイダも多い（一部のユーザーが帯域を喰いまくるのが気に入らないという）… 〔Many ISP's place restrictions on Torrent downloads (they get fed up with a few users hogging all the bandwidth)....〕

トレントを用いてのダウンロードは知的財産権の窃盗に繋がることが多い。その種の接続に係る帯域幅がプロバイダにより細く設定されている可能性もある。問題が継続するようであればプロバイダ側に問い合わせてみるとよろしかろう。 〔Torrent downloads are commonly associated with theft of intellectual property.
