は、なにより検索エンジンとして名高い「ヤフー」の送るサービスのひとつ『ヤフー！知恵袋』の本家版すなわち『ヤフー！アンサーズ』(Yahoo! Answers)に投稿された、“マン・オブ・ザ・イヤー．”(мαη σƒ тнє уєαя.)という名の利用者による質問である。
部門を『美容＆スタイル』(Beauty & Style)に定めたうえで2009年の10月9日に放たれたこの質問は、その投稿者の定め置いた題がおおよそ全てを述する通り、モデルを被写体とした写真についての問いを示した。
モデルの写真の“フォトショップ”すなわち「修整」についてのこの問いは、その投下の時期からして明らかに―それに直に関係したフィリッパ・ハミルトンの騒動を受けて生まれたものであった。

相当可愛いよモデルさんたちって。でもさ普通は雑誌上の姿だけしか目に入んないもんだからね。プロのメイクさんとか特殊照明と凄技修整駆使してくれる写真家さんたちの助けあってのものなんでして。幻想が売りの商売なんだよﾟーﾟ 〔The models are very pretty, but they usually only look the way they do in magazines because they have had the help of a professional make-up artist and a photographer who uses special lighting, and/or photoshop. メディアに露出する写真というのはですね、どの業界だろうと関係なしに、基本的に 例 外 な く 修整済みなんですよ。モデルの写真についてはもはや言うまでもありません。実物から遠くかけ離れるようなメイクにもちろん照明技術も心強い味方なのです。 〔Pictures in general, no matter whose picture it is in the media world, it is ALWAYS retouched. Model's picture's are no doubt retouched, they always have tons of make-up on, which makes then look so different, and the lighting helps as well.〕

ランウェイの写真であれば（ほぼ）修整なしですよ。写り込むモデルの数が多すぎなもので修整なんてしてたらキリがありません。照明やお化粧の酷さで美貌を評価するのは公平な態度とは言えないのではないでしょうか。 〔Runway photos are -HARDLY EVER- photoshopped.. there is too many of them to edit. but it is not fair to judge someone's beauty or lack thereof because sometimes the lighting/make up is horrible etc〕
ちなみにモデルの写真といっても街撮り写真やポラロイド写真は修整なんてありえませんよ。美貌の良き判断材料になりますね。 〔Also their candid/polaroid photos are never edited, ever. You can see who is pretty and who isn't through that〕
まあその他の写真となると多かれ少なかれみんな修整済みですがね。微妙な修整もあれば抜本的な改変もありで。（ラルフローレンのあの広告がそうですね。フィリッパ・ハミルトンさんという。見てやってくださいな。） 〔But every other photo is photoshopped, to what extent, it depends. Some are only changed a little but others are drastically altered (ie that ralph lauren ad, the models name is filippa hamilton, look her up)〕
可愛くない／美人でないという人材もいるものですよ。なのに起用を受けることができるのは、写真写りが秀逸で、長身、細身、仕事に要求される要素（たとえばポーズ取り）が秀逸で、人目を惹く／独特の容姿を備えているからなのです。 〔But some are not even pretty/beautiful, but are hired because they are photogenic, tall, skinny, great at the modelling part of modelling (poses etc) and have an interesting/unique look.〕
モデルのポラロイド写真をご覧になりたいということであれば私が持って参ってもよろしいわけですが。非常に難しいですよ修整は。 〔if you want model polaroids i can find you some. they are too hard to edit.〕
