スター選手がみんな黒人なもんだからバスケやるのを敬遠するわけよアメリカ白人は。ケビン・ラブ、デビッド・リー、スティーブ・ナッシュ（カナダもアメリカだかんな）みたいなアメリカ白人選手をNBAがもっと重視してりゃな。そしたら自分もやってけるかもって憧れてやり始める子供たちがもっと増えることだろうに。白人のスター選手がヨーロッパ諸国出身ばっかっていう状況については、最大の理由はあっちのバスケの有様ってのにある。もっとコートが広いし試合展開が速くて五輪バスケみたいな感じなんだよな。シュート能力でもパス能力でもアメリカ産のを上回るしな。サイズとポジション重視の指導を受けるアメリカ人に対して、ヨーロッパ人は技術志向の指導を受ける。それでルーク・ウォルトン、アダム・モリソン、ウォーリー・ザービアックよりダーク・ノビツキー、ジードルナス・イルガスカス、姚明のほうがパスとシュートで優れてるってわけだ。あのサイズでな。 〔Most white Americans are discouraged from playing basketball because all of the stars are black. If the NBA promoted more white American players, like Kevin Love, David Lee, Steve Nash (Canada is still America), the kids looking up to them would at least feel like they have a chance to make a name for themselves in the league. As for the fact that most of the white star players are from European countries, it has to mostly do with the way the game is played over there. Its more like Olympic basketball with the wider lane and quicker gameplay. Those players come over here more skilled shooters and passers than there American counterparts. Americans are taught to play according to size and position while Europeans are taught according to their skill set. That why Dirk Nowitzki, Zydrunas Illgauskas and Yao Ming are better passers and shooters at their size than say a Luke Walton, Adam Morrison or Wally Szerbiak are at theirs.〕

ヨーロッパにはFIBAがある。NBA以外のプロリーグでは最高峰だし優れた選手がわんさといる。バスケの名門校や青少年向けプログラムがある国は他にも数多し。こっちで言うところのAAUとかNCAAね。それで才能の芽が世界中で育っていくわけだ。ヨーロッパってのは世界でも豊かなほうの陣営なわけで、そういうプログラムに出すカネがある。それであっちから来てる白人がやたらと多いってわけだ。 〔Europe has FIBA which has the best pro league minus the NBA and many great players are there.
