As for the fact that most of the white star players are from European countries, it has to mostly do with the way the game is played over there. Its more like Olympic basketball with the wider lane and quicker gameplay. Those players come over here more skilled shooters and passers than there American counterparts. Americans are taught to play according to size and position while Europeans are taught according to their skill set. That why Dirk Nowitzki, Zydrunas Illgauskas and Yao Ming are better passers and shooters at their size than say a Luke Walton, Adam Morrison or Wally Szerbiak are at theirs.〕

ヨーロッパにはFIBAがある。NBA以外のプロリーグでは最高峰だし優れた選手がわんさといる。バスケの名門校や青少年向けプログラムがある国は他にも数多し。こっちで言うところのAAUとかNCAAね。それで才能の芽が世界中で育っていくわけだ。ヨーロッパってのは世界でも豊かなほうの陣営なわけで、そういうプログラムに出すカネがある。それであっちから来てる白人がやたらと多いってわけだ。 〔Europe has FIBA which has the best pro league minus the NBA and many great players are there.
