は、なにより検索エンジンとして名高い「ヤフー」の送るサービスのひとつ『ヤフー！知恵袋』の本家版すなわち『ヤフー！アンサーズ』(Yahoo! Answers)に投稿された、“ケイトリン”(Kaytlyn)という名の利用者による質問である。

注意しとかなきゃいけないのはね、モデル業ってさ、容貌だけで務まるものではないってこと。身から滲み出るオーラや身にまとう優雅感ってものが必須になるんよ。どうやったらそれを体得できるかは難しいとこ。なにもしなくても自然に身についちゃってる人もいたりしてね。そういう人だと成功の望みが一気に高くなるんよね。 〔But remember that being a model is not just about looks. You need to have an aura of style and elegance around you, there are quite a few courses out there which teach you how get that personality. To some it comes naturally, which is a very good sign of success for that person.〕

イイオンナじゃんよ！だけどさ細さはどんなとこ？モデルなりたいっていうならあれだよ。1日あたりコーヒー1杯みたいな月もあるってこと覚悟しとかなきゃだよ。モデルってのはさ可愛くなくても別にいいんだよね。モデルに必須になるのは長身と正真正銘の細くて長い脚。そして胸だの尻だのはむしろ無いほうがいい。省エネな身体ってやつだね。正直ぶっちゃけるとさ、モデルになれるほどダメな容姿はしてないと思うよ。 〔You are gorgeous! モデルっても種類によりますわいな。見た感じ紙媒体のモデルならまあ務まりもするんじゃないかなと。あれよ。身近なレベルのやつさね。でもハイファッション？ときたらそれはちょっとないわなと。ちなみにだわさ、モデル業ってのは見た目の良さで全てが決まるもんじゃないわけさ。その時期に求められてる容姿を備えてるかどうかの問題なわけよ。ハイファッションモデルたち見てみ。どうも魅力的には見えない（もっといくとブサイク）って言われそうなのがいたりするじゃんね。それでもハイファッショモデルやれてるのは、その特定の時期に業界が欲しがってる何かしらの要素を持ってるからなんよ。そんで同じ要素を持ってる人材が新たに入ってきたら、はいもう用済み交代バイバイって世界。使い捨て商売なんだよね。そういうのがイヤってんならおすすめはできない世界だね。あれよ。あんた可愛くないよ、とかそんなこと言ってるわけじゃないからね。いやそれどころかあんたすんげえ可愛いよと。ところが問題はそんなんじゃなくてね。自分の可愛さを見せつけたいからって理由でやるのはよしときなよ、と。やるなら確固たる目標を持って激務（そうだよ務めだよ）も厭わぬ覚悟でね、とまあそういうことよ。もっといい気分味わってみたいからーなんちゅう発想でいくんじゃなくてさ。 〔Depends what type of modeling you want to do. I can sort of see you doing print modeling for like Old Navy or something. Something more with more natural looking models. High fashion? Not really. And modeling isn't JUST about having good looks. It's about having THE look that is desired at the time. Some people who a lot of people might think aren't that attractive (even ugly) are high fashion models because they have that certain thing the industry is looking for during that particular time. And then when a new look comes in they will be traded for 'fresher faces' that have that look. It's a cut throat business and if you can't handle rejection I wouldn't even try. That doesn't mean you aren't pretty. No in fact you are VERY pretty. But trying to model just to prove you are pretty isn't the best thing to do. Try it because YOU really want to and you're willing to put in the hard work (yes it IS work), not because you want to feel more attractive.〕
